Why Rogers Homeowners Choose Spray Foam
Minnesota winters demand insulation that actually performs
Stop Winter
Drafts
Spray foam expands to fill every crack and gap, an airtight seal fiberglass batts cannot match. No more cold spots or uneven heating in your Rogers home.
Lower Energy
Bills
ENERGY STAR estimates about 15% savings on heating and cooling from air sealing plus insulation. Many Rogers projects also qualify for utility rebates.
Increase Home Value
Buyers notice a home that stays comfortable year-round. Insulation pays you back twice: lower bills while you live there, stronger appeal when you sell.
Reduce Exterior Noise
Open-cell spray foam is an exceptional sound absorber. It fills the wall cavity completely, so rooms near busy roads, flight paths, and neighbors feel noticeably quieter.
Help Stop Ice Dams
Ice dams start when heat leaks into the attic and melts the snow on your roof. Sealing those air leaks first, then adding insulation, keeps that heat in the house.
Eco-Friendly
Choice
Reducing your energy consumption is one of the most impactful things you can do for the environment. Spray foam lasts the life of the home without settling or losing R-value.

Insulation for Rogers Homes
Rogers is really two cities stacked on one map, and they fail in different ways. Most of what got built here went up between 2000 and 2015, big two-story homes with a bonus room over the garage, and that bonus room is the call we get more than anything else in this city. Then there is everything that came over with Hassan Township in 2012: farmhouses, additions on additions, and outbuildings sitting on acreage north and west of the interstate. A 2006 build is not an old house, but the attic got blown to the depth that met code in 2006, and the standard moved since. A lot of times we go up there and find a real insulation depth sitting several inches under what a house that size needs now, plus can lights and bath fans venting warm air straight into the attic. You do not feel that as a draft. You feel it as a furnace that never seems to shut off.
Common Insulation Problems in Rogers Homes
Most Rogers homes have an attached garage with living space directly above it, and the floor of that room is the weak point. The joist bays over an unheated garage usually got a batt that sagged away from the subfloor, so cold air washes underneath it all winter. The knee walls on either side of that room open into vented attic, so the room is losing heat on three surfaces at once. Out in the Hassan area the problem is different: older farmhouses with almost nothing in the walls, and shops and outbuildings that were never insulated at all.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the bonus room over my garage in Rogers so cold in winter?
Because it is losing heat on three sides, not one. The floor sits over an unheated garage, and nine times out of 10 the batt in those joist bays has sagged, so there is an air gap between the insulation and your subfloor. Cold air moves through that gap. Then the knee walls on both sides of the room back onto open attic space. The fix is sealing the floor system from the garage ceiling side and getting foam behind the knee walls so the whole room sits inside the envelope instead of half outside it.
My Rogers house was built in 2006. Doesn't it already have enough insulation?
It had enough for 2006. Attic depth requirements have gone up since then, and the houses we open up from that era are typically short of where a home that size should be today. It is also not really about the number. You can have a good depth of blown-in up there and still have a drafty house, because R-value is not air sealing. What matters is whether the attic floor is actually sealed at the top plates, the can lights, and the bath fan boots. That is where the heat leaves.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Installed correctly, it stays put for the life of the house. It does not settle, slump, or compress the way loose fill can over the decades. That is the whole reason it costs more up front. The word doing the work in that sentence is "correctly," though. Foam that was sprayed too thick in one pass, or sprayed on a surface that was too cold, can pull away from the framing later. That is why it matters who is actually standing in your attic holding the gun.
Can I spray foam my own insulation?
You can buy kits, and people do. The part that is hard to do yourself is not spraying, it is the judgment before the spraying. Wrong substrate temperature, wrong thickness in one pass, or foam sprayed over a moisture problem you did not catch, and now you have an expensive mistake buried behind drywall where you cannot see it. Travis looks at the house first and figures out what actually belongs in it. Sometimes the honest answer is that spray foam is not the right product for that spot and blown-in does the job for less.
Do you work on the older farmhouses and outbuildings out in the Hassan area?
Yes, and those are usually more interesting jobs than the subdivisions. Older homes out that way often have almost nothing in the walls, and we can insulate from the outside by pulling the siding, dense packing, and putting the siding back when we are done, so nobody has to demo the inside of the house. Shops and outbuildings we handle too. Call Travis and tell him what you have out there. He comes out, looks at it himself, and the bid you get is the job that gets done.
