Why Fridley Homeowners Choose Spray Foam

Minnesota winters demand insulation that actually performs

Stop Winter
Drafts

Spray foam expands to fill every crack and gap, an airtight seal fiberglass batts cannot match. No more cold spots or uneven heating in your Fridley home.

Lower Energy
Bills

ENERGY STAR estimates about 15% savings on heating and cooling from air sealing plus insulation. Many Fridley projects also qualify for utility rebates.

Increase Home Value

Buyers notice a home that stays comfortable year-round. Insulation pays you back twice: lower bills while you live there, stronger appeal when you sell.

Reduce Exterior Noise

Open-cell spray foam is an exceptional sound absorber. It fills the wall cavity completely, so rooms near busy roads, flight paths, and neighbors feel noticeably quieter.

Prevent Moisture & Ice Dams

Closed-cell spray foam acts as a vapor barrier, preventing the moisture migration that causes ice dams, mold growth, and structural damage in Minnesota homes.

Eco-Friendly
Choice

Reducing your energy consumption is one of the most impactful things you can do for the environment. Spray foam lasts the life of the home without settling or losing R-value.

Insulation for Fridley Homes

Most of Fridley was built in one stretch through the 1950s and 1960s: ramblers and split-levels insulated to the standards of their day, which were not much. Sixty years later the attic fill has settled, the rim joists are still bare, and the lower level of every split-level runs colder than the rest of the house. None of that is hard to fix once you find it. We walk the house, find where it is actually losing heat, and fix it in the right order: air seal first, then insulate. Spray foam where it counts, blown-in on top. Nine times out of ten the whole job is done in a day, and we handle the CenterPoint and Xcel rebate paperwork for you.

Common Insulation Problems in Fridley Homes

The problems we find most often in Fridley homes: attics running on settled 1960s insulation, split-level lower floors that never warm up, rim joists with a loose strip of fiberglass doing next to nothing, drafts around the original windows and top plates, and ice dams that come back every winter until the heat loss is fixed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does insulation cost in Fridley?

Every house is different, so we do not publish per-square-foot prices. Travis looks at what you have going on: how much insulation is in there now, whether there is a vapor barrier, how much air movement, and how hard the attic is to work in. Then you get a bid that matches the actual job. Want ballpark numbers first? Call him. He answers the phone and can usually give you current ranges in a few minutes. And if you qualify for a CenterPoint or Xcel rebate, that can take a real bite out of the price, sometimes half or more depending on the program.

My 1960s rambler is drafty and the furnace never stops running. Where do you start?

The attic and the rim joist, almost always. Heat escapes through attic bypasses around the chimney, bath fans, and top plates, and cold air pulls in at the rim joist to replace it. That loop is what makes a house feel drafty. We air seal the attic floor, spray foam the rim joist, and add blown-in to the right depth. You notice it that day or that night: the furnace stops running all the time.

Why does the lower level of my Fridley split-level stay cold all winter?

Split-levels were built with the lower level partially below grade, and the rim joists at ground level were rarely sealed. In a Fridley split-level, that lower floor sits right against the outside air, and the fiberglass stuffed in the rim joist does almost nothing. Spray foam in the rim joist cuts it off completely. In most split-levels it makes a noticeable difference in the lower level within the first winter.

What type of insulation is best for Fridley homes?

It depends on the house. For most Fridley ramblers and split-levels the best results come from spray foam at the rim joists, air sealing the attic floor, and a thick blown-in blanket on top. Story-and-a-half homes usually call for spray foam at the roofline. We look at what you have going on and recommend the right fix at the estimate.

Do you remove old blown-in insulation in Fridley attics before re-insulating?

Sometimes, not always. If the old blown-in is just settled and dry we can blow over it, but if it has been wet, if there is mold, or if the depth has dropped so far that you are starting close to zero anyway, we remove everything first. The 1960s houses in Fridley often have original insulation that has settled to two or three inches with no air sealing at all. Travis looks at every attic himself before bidding, so you will know which situation you have before we start.
